ACTIVITIES

Highlights

    * 2 DL visits for November and May Chapter meetings

    * Restarted satellite meetings in Waterloo to provide content for Chapter Members who are a 1.5 hour drive away

    * Book 2024 CRC date and location: Hyatt Regency - Coralville, IA (April 11-13th)

CHAPTER TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER

2 DL Visits

    * Douglas Zentz: Sustainable Building Operation via Standard 189.1

            - Part of Go-Green Conference full day seminar

    * Thomas Durkin: Heat Recovery Applications and Economics & Geothermal Central Systems

MEMBERSHIP AND PROMOTION

Maintained membership while seeing ~15% turnover in people. Majority of turnover in membership was leaving and incoming YEA qualified members

STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Scholarships

    * Awarded Qty. (2) $1,0000 scholarships to University of Iowa Students

            - 6th Consecutive year of awards

University of Iowa - Mechanical Engineering - Local University 

    * University of Iowa does not have an ASHRAE chapter or offer HVAC oriented classes

    * Have begun communications to identify opportunities to get students involved with Chapter activities 

RESEARCH PROMOTION

Annual Golf Outing

    * Golf Outing at Brown Deere saw 61 golfers and raised $2,000 for RP Donations

          - RP Goal: $2,000

YEA

YEA Events

    * Due to limited chapter size YEA events and monthly meetings are mixed into one event. 

          - All members of Board of Governors are YEA members with less than two years of ASHRAE experience so we are amassing a group of young leaders. 

    * 25% of chapter qualifies for YEA

COMMUNICATIONS

Chapter Website Upgrade

    * Current chapter operation utilizes googles email and forum capabilities along with Quickbooks for electronic payments

    * Transitioning to StarChapter for all in on operation for 2023-2024 year.
